CBD Oil as a Strong Anti-Inflammatory Drug

Before we can talk about the effects of CBD oil as a strong anti-inflammatory drug, we first have to understand what inflammation is. It is only then can we really understand how CBD oil can help, or not help, the symptoms of inflammation. This article is going to teach you what inflammation is and how CBD oil can, or can’t, be a strong anti-inflammatory.

What Is Inflammation?

To put it bluntly, the definition of inflammation is a bodily response to some type of harmful stimuli.

While that definition may seem vague, it isn’t since anything can cause inflammation. There are many things that can cause this type of response within your body. That is the exact reason why many people consider inflammation to be more of a ‘warning sign,’ opposed to an actual disease.

Some of the main symptoms of inflammation can include:

  • Swelling

  • Pain

  • Fatigue

  • Soreness

  • Heat

  • Itchy skin

  • Gut Issues such as IBS, diarrhea and Ulcerative Colitis

  • Redness

So, to keep it as simple as possible, inflammation is typically considered a generic response to any threat to your health. Your immune system will be activated so that it can attempt to fight off its ‘attacker.’ What is unfortunate for most people, however, is that it is their own habits and behaviors that cause this attack of inflammation, to begin with. Essentially, you are attacking yourself.

It’s these bad habits such as excess stress, poor diet, and micronutrient deficiencies, as well as outside disrupting chemicals such as smog, certain foods, and different types of plastics; that are attacking your body all day every day. Unfortunately, unless you are familiar with them, you are basically helping them attack your body.

This is the exact reason why inflammation is becoming so much more common these days and increasing amounts of autoimmune disease are rising along with it. It’s almost like you are allowing for this to happen to yourself. As if that weren’t enough, inflammation has been attributed to the following medical conditions:

  • Different bone diseases including osteoporosis

  • Metabolic disorders with complications just like type 2 diabetes

  • Chronic inflammatory diseases just like IBD and COPD

  • Neurological disorders like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s

While inflammation has been around forever and has always been tough for researchers to find a legitimate solution too, the normal solution from doctors is usually something like take some of these:

  • Ibuprofen

  • Aspirin

  • Oxaprozin

  • Piroxicam

  • Celecoxib

Unfortunately, when it comes to the pills listed above, most people usually take them like they are covered in chocolate without even realizing that the side effects that are attached to these pills include:

  • Dizziness

  • Diarrhea

  • Nausea

  • Drowsiness

  • Rash

  • Constipation

  • Vomiting

The scariest part of these side effects is that they actually get even more serious. There are several accounts of kidney and liver failure, prolonged bleeding after an injury and even ulcers. And if that weren’t enough, all of these so-called pharmaceutical ‘solutions’ can potentially increase your risk of a fatal heart attack or stroke.

It is no wonder that the masses are flocking to a more natural form of treatment. And yes, this treatment does have a name, and it is CBD oil.

What Is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is made from high CBD and low-THC hemp. This makes it different, as it isn’t similar to other marijuana products that are typically made from marijuana plants with much higher concentrations of the psychoactive compound tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. Since these CBD oils contain minimal trace amounts of THC, they typically don’t have any psychoactive properties of any kind.

CBD, or cannabidiol, is only one of more than 85 different cannabinoids that have been identified within the cannabis plant. It is also the second most abundant cannabinoid that is present in marijuana only after the main cannabinoid, THC. However, when it comes to hemp, CBD is the dominate cannabinoid, while THC is present only in minimal trace amounts.

How Does CBD Oil Help Inflammation?

While the simplest answer to preventing inflammation is to change your diet and make sure you include more Omega 3’s in your daily diet that is not always practical. Since those options are more than likely never going to happen, CBD oil is a strong anti-inflammatory and the next closest thing that you can do to help with your body’s immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory qualities.

Two cannabinoid receptors are housed in your nervous system. They are CB1 and CB2. While THC is more impactful on CB1, CBD oil has a larger impact on the CB2 receptor, which is in control of your mood, sleep, appetite, and perception. The CB2 receptor is also the main affecter of the immune system.

Since we know that inflammation is a type of ‘immune response,’ the CBD oil that focuses on the CB2 receptor is able to greatly reduce any type of inflammation. Studies have shown that CBD oil is the most active natural component to affect the CB2 receptor.

Research on CBD Oil and Inflammation

The research measuring the effects of CBD oil on inflammation has produced the most exciting results fixing inflammation that has ever been seen. CBD oil is hands down the strongest of any other anti-inflammatory options available.

While several different compounds were combined with marijuana that did help to reduce some of the inflammation, it was nowhere near as effective as CBD oil. And to really drive that point home, every single study that is done with the effects of CBD oil on inflammation, the results are always the same. The CBD oil helps to lessen the symptoms and prevent them from coming back as quickly as any other substance.

While there is still research that needs to be done to confirm that CBD oil is one of the strongest anti-inflammatory medicines available today, all of the evidence and studies have already confirmed it. While it hasn’t been official zed yet, CBD oil truly is shaping up to be the absolute best anti-inflammatory drug that will help you with your inflammation.
